On 02/16/14, in the early morning hours, Deputies of the Oswego County Sheriff's Office and Troopers from the New York State Police, responded to a robbery at the Byrne Dairy on US RT 11 in the T/O Hastings. A preliminary investigation revealed a strong-armed robbery had just been committed by two suspects that fled the scene on foot. Officers then followed those footprints left unwittingly in the snow by the suspects to 166 Roxbury Estates. Both suspects were arrested and property stolen from the store was recovered.
The suspects arrested are, Frank J. Burt 17 years of age and Jeremy L. Champney, also 17 years of age, both men reside in the T/O Hastings.
Each were charged with one count of Robbery in the 1st degree, a class b felony, one count of Robbery in the second degree, a class c felony, one count of conspiracy in the 4th degree, a class e felony and Jeremy was charged with an additional count of Resisting arrest. Both men are pending arraignment in town court.
The investigation is continuing.
On 3/5/14 at 9:08 p.m., Jacob H. Kirchner, 16, of 1627 CR 2, Richland, NY was operating a 2004 Toyota reportedly exiting a driveway onto CR 2 in the Town of Orwell, 100 feet west of Beecherville Rd., when the vehicle collided with a 2008 Jeep suburban traveling east and being operated by Melissa M. Woolson, 36, of 439 CR 50, Richland, NY. Mr. Kirchner was issued a UTT for Failure to Yield the Right of Way. Obstruction of view seems to have been a contributing factor.
On 3/6/14 at 9:19 a.m., Sally E. Jordan, 74, of PO Box 182, Cleveland, NY was operating a 2003 Saturn west on SR 49 in the Town of Constantia, ¼ mile west of Frederick St., reportedly attempting to slow down for uninvolved vehicle that had entered the roadway when it was rear ended by a 1992 Ford being operated by Joshua M. Montgomery, 24, of 8464 Elpis Rd., Cleveland, NY. Mr. Montgomery was issued a UTT for Following too Closely.
On 2/28/14 at 6:22 a.m., Lorraine G. Stevenson, 65, of 18 Florida Ave., Fulton, NY was reportedly operating a 2001 Ford suburban east on CR 85 in the Town of Minetto, .05 mile east of CR 8, when she lost control of the vehicle causing it to travel into the west bound lane and exit the north shoulder of the road and strike a utility pole. Ms. Stevenson was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital. Slippery pavement and failure to keep right seem to have been contributing factors.
On 3/2/14 at 3:32 p.m., C R Barbera, 29, of 101 Maple View Dr., Pennellville, NY was operating a 2012 Mazda east on Maple View Dr. in the Town of Schroeppel and reportedly attempted to turn right when the vehicle collided with a 2012 Honda that was traveling north on Maple View Dr. and attempting to turn left, being operated by Mary Rao, 22, of 8760 River Rd., Baldwinsville, NY. Ms. Rao was issued a UTT for Unregistered Motor Vehicle. Failure to keep right and improper turning seem to have been contributing factors.
On 3/5/14 at 3:55 a.m., Mary C. Sanborn, 23, of 7014 Highfield Rd., Fayetteville, NY was arrested for DWI, Aggravated DWI, AUO, 1st degree, a class E felony and Unsafe Turn following a traffic stop on CR 12A in the Village of Central Square Court initiated after patrol reportedly observed the 2009 Subaru she was operating stopped in front of the Central Square Police Department then proceed to the intersection of SR 49 and CR 12A and turn left without using the turn signal. Ms. Sanborn was arraigned by Hon. Judge Avery in V/O Central Square Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $500/$1,000 bail with a return to court date of 3/19/14.

On 3/5/14 at 8:12 a.m., Chad J. Belair, 19, of 1 Sixberry Rd., Pennellville, NY was arrested at a T/O Schroeppel residence and charged with Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor following an incident in the Town of Schroeppel when he was allegedly found to be in the presence of the victim of which has a stay away order of protection filed against him. Mr. Belair was arraigned by Hon. Judge Nazarian in the T/O Schroeppel Court and ROR'd with a return to court on 3/5/14.

On 3/4/14 at 10:15 a.m., a 17 year old male was arrested at the Oswego County Correctional Facility with Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into an incident at the Byrne Dairy on US Rt. 11 in the Town of Hastings on 2/16/14 where he allegedly stole cigarettes. The male was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Hastings Court on 4/30/14.
On 3/4/14 at 7:11 p.m., Brenden P. Falls, 21, of 140 West Fifth Street Rd., Oswego, NY was charged with AUO, 3rd degree (suspended 2x on 2/20/14 for failure to pay fine in C/O Oswego) and Insecure License Plate following a traffic stop on SR 48 in the Town of Minetto initiated by patrol's observation of the non-secure license plate, Mr. Falls was released on UTT's, returnable to the Town of Minetto Court on 3/19/14.
On 2/18/14 at 4:50 p.m., Kaytlin L. Paninski, 18, of 16 Eldred Rd., Altmar, NY was reportedly exiting a driveway onto Harwood Dr. in the Town of Sandy Creek at the intersection of Salina St. while operating a 2011 Mazda suburban and collided with a 2007 Subaru suburban being operated by Sarena H. Frawley, 81, of 11973 Joslyn Rd., Ellisburg, NY that was traveling west on Harwood Dr. Ms. Paninski was issued a UTT for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
On 2/26/14 at 3:03 p.m., Ernest S. Maitland, 55, of PO Box 167, Richland, NY was operating a 2010 International tractor trailer registered to AIM Leasing Co. out of Girard, OH south on I81 in the Town of Richland when reportedly attempting to pass a 2010 Buick that was slowed down in the driving lane and being operated by Donna M. Bull, 67, of 519 Churchill Ave., Ottawa, ON collided with a 2000 International tow vehicle being operated by Craig J. Parker, 53, of 4749 Salina St., Pulaski, NY that had slowed due to other vehicles being off the roadway. The tractor trailer then collided with the Buick and a 2010 Chrysler suburban being operated by Steven W. LaClair, 46, of 16216 NYS Rt. 12E, Dexter, NY. The road conditions at the time of the accident were snow covered and contributing factors reported were unsafe speed and moving from lane unsafely. Mr. Maitland was issued UTT's for Moving from Lane Unsafely and Following too Closely. A passenger in Mr. LaClair's vehicle, Autumn Hutchinson, 19, was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown and Ms. Bull was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital.
On 2/26/14 at 3:03 p.m., Diana L. Begley, 40, of 35278 SR 37, Theresa, NY was operating a 2011 Mazda suburban south on I81, 2/10 mile south of I81 south exit 36 ramp, in the Town of Richland when attempting to avoid a 2000 Kenworth tractor trailer that was in the ditch due to avoiding another mva and being operated by James F. Conway Jr., 46, of 88 Campbell Rd., Churubusco, NY lost control causing the vehicle to collide with a 2012 enclosed box truck being operated by Brian T. Bailey, 25, of 137 Fairway Circle, Baldwinsville, NY and the tractor trailer. Ms. Begley was transported by ambulance to Genesis Hospital in Watertown, NY.
On 3/3/14 at 12:11 p.m., Jessica M. Potter, 25, 274 Mack Rd., New Haven, NY was arrested based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the City of Oswego charging her with Introducing Contraband into Prison, 2nd degree. Ms. Potter was arraigned in the City of Oswego Court by Hon. Judge Metcalf and ROR'd with a return to court on 3/20/14.
On 3/3/14 at 7:22 p.m., Britney M. Button, 22, of 302 Ruth Rd., Central Square, NY was charged with AUO, 3rd degree (1/26/14 for Failure to Answer Summons in T/O Hastings, 2x on 11/21/13 for Failure to Answer Summons in V/O Central Square) and Exhaust System violation following a traffic stop on SR 69 in the Town of Parish reportedly initiated by the vehicle's loud muffler. Mr. Button was released on UTT's, returnable to the T/O Parish Court on 3/25/14.
On 2/26/14 at 11:03 a.m., Ronald D. Worden Jr., 50, of 13 Klocks Corners Rd., Oswego, NY was reportedly traveling west on SR 104 in the Town of Scriba, 50 feet west of CR 63, in a 1997 Dodge pickup when the vehicle rear ended a 2007 Nissan suburban being operated by William J. Zakur, 62, of 132 Creamery Rd., Oswego, NY. Mr. Worden Jr. was issued a UTT for Following Too Closely.
On 2/26/14 at 2:55 p.m., James R. Maslen, 32, of 10 SR 69A, Parish, NY was reportedly traveling west on CR 1 in the Town of New Haven, 900 feet east of Shore Oaks Road, when the 1997 Ford pickup he was operating rear ended a 2007 delivery vehicle registered to UPS out of East Syracuse that was slowing to make a turn into a driveway. The UPS truck was operated by Eric W. Burns, 36, of 5 Orville St., Oswego, NY. Mr. Maslen was issued a UTT for Following Too Closely.
On 2/27/14, John C. Walcott, 67, of PO Box 214, Lycoming, NY, was operating a 2010 Pontiac eastbound on Miner Road in the Town of Scriba at 3:40 p.m. when he attempted to stop at the intersection of CR 29 and slid into the intersection colliding with a southbound 2012 Buick driven by Susan M. Richards, 55, of 76 Skyline Drive, Oswego, NY. Both drivers and a passenger in the Pontiac, Breonica A. Dings, 19, were all transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital. Mr. Walcott was issued a ticket for Failed to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign Intersection.
On 2/28/14 at 12:26 p.m., Cody E. Foster, 20, of 2772 CR 6, New Haven, NY, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, stemming from an incident that occurred in the Town of Parish after a bag of marijuana, glass smoking pipe, and a grinder containing marijuana residue were reportedly found in his vehicle. Mr. Foster was issued an appearance ticket to appear before Town of Parish Court on 3/11/14 to answer the charge.
On 2/27/14 at 8:40 p.m., Dustin H. Garner, 35, of 34 Woodruff Rd., Lot 1, Hannibal, NY, was ticketed for Operation While Registration Suspended/Revoked (registration suspended for insurance lapse), following a traffic stop on Woodruff Road after a License Plate Reader targeted his vehicle. Mr. Garner is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Hannibal Court on 3/11/14.
On 3/01/14 at 11:05 a.m., Shawn M. Cole, 26, of 30 Mitchell Street, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he was accused of stealing items from a vehicle that was parked outside of a Town of Palermo residence in June, 2013. Mr. Cole was arraigned before Town of Palermo Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on 3/10/14.

On 3/01/14 at 1:37 p.m., George D. Call, 18, of 720 Oneida St., Fulton, NY, was taken into custody based on a warrant charging him with Violation of Probation. Mr. Call was arraigned before the Hon. James Aluzzi, Town of Volney Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear before Fulton City Court on 3/05/13.
